Claire’s Corner

The star of C-team tennis, mom of three cats, and proud owner of dolphin eyebrows. Claire Hoy is a senior at South, with many unique qualities.

While in school, Hoy is an active member of National Honor Society, Natural Helpers, and Senior Exec. Outside of school, she likes to watch TV and read.

Animals are something that Hoy is very passionate about. In her free time she volunteers at the KC Pet Project. Nothing upsets Hoy more than someone who mistreats thier dogs. She is also a firm believer in the saying “adopt, don’t shop”

“I hate when people buy their dogs instead of adopting them,” Hoy said.

She loves animals so much that she can’t get away from them. Everyday before going out, Hoy takes time to make sure she can put on makeup. She is always sure to put extra focus on the eyebrows.

“If I don’t fill in my eyebrows they look like dolphins,” Hoy said.

In 5 years, Hoy hopes to be done with college and having no student loans. After college, she can see herself moving away from Kansas City, including a hot boyfriend. As her last year of high school rounds up, Hoy is just hoping to make the most of her last days at south.
