From Parker’s Perspective
For many people, May 1, 2003 was just another normal day. For Parker Rivers and his family, it’s a very special day; his birthday.
Parker is a design editor for the View, but he’s far more versatile than that; he’s also involved in debate, Scholar Bowl, and Model UN. Outside of school he enjoys hanging out with friends, working on his debate cases, and playing League of Legends.
Debate is Parker’s pride and joy, and for good reason. Regarding his achievements last year, he said “I qualified to state, got 1st place at Truman’s tournament, and was an alternate for Public Forum and Extemp for nationals.”
For anyone questioning newspaper, Parker strongly recommends it. “It’s a really fun class if writing is your strong suit, and you’ll really enjoy it as soon as you get the hang of things,” he said.
All in all, Parker is a valuable member of the View’s staff and a great student if one ever has the pleasure of meeting him.
