Take the Executive Action
Want to get involved? Join an Executive club.
At South there’s an executive club for every grade. All these clubs exist with the same goal in mind– fundraising money for the class. Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior Exec’s main purpose is to raise money for prom.
Riley Parman is the president for Sophomore Exec and she wants to represent her class by growing their involvement in the school. This year Parman hopes that everyone in her class is apart of something. She believes that joining this club would allow students to feel included.
“I just want every single person to have something, and if they don’t have something, that something could be Sophomore Exec,” Parman said.
Junior Ecec is where most of the money for prom comes from. Amy Graham is the president, and she’s focused on planning a great prom. She also wants to motivate her class to get more involved in what is going on around at South.
“My first goal is to expand the club more, so people actually join. The more people you have, the better prom will turn out and the easier it will be run,” Graham said.
Other than designing the senior class shirt, students in Senior Exec get to decide on how their grade should use all the leftover money. Whether that be for gradation, the senior picnic, or buying spirit things for sports events. Senior President Kerrigan Meehan has brought a lot of new ideas to the senior class. Even creating a twitter and instagram used for class updates.
“My plan is to make seniors have the best year possible to remember their experiences at South,” Meehan said.
A good way of getting involved in South is being apart of these clubs. They accept anyone in their grade that has ideas regarding their class. The more people that join, the more it benefits their class. Overall these clubs help with raising the moral around South.
