Key club prepares for a year of community service
Park Hill South’s own Key Club is back in full swing this year. Key Club is an organization focused on completing and promoting community service in its respective community.
Key Club held its election for officers this week. Luci Steele, senior, was elected as the new President and Tyler Unrath, senior, was elected as the Vice President.
“I’m really excited for Key Club this year because we always have so much fun as a group, and it’s always really exciting volunteering with a really great group of people!” said Steele.
This year Key Club is seeing a deficit in underclassmen, with the majority of its members being juniors and seniors. Steele and the rest of the clubs’ members are hoping to see an increase in its underclassmen population, and encourage everyone at South to join.
A new initiative of the club this year is collaborating more closely with STUCO. The newly elected Junior Representative and STUCO Treasurer, Coleman Reese, plans to use his position to unite the two.
“STUCO is here to help us, Key Club needs to tell us what they need and we want to make it happen,” said Reese
Key Club will hold its first major service event of the year on Oct. 2nd at Harvesters. See Ms. Williams in room B203 for more information.
