Dylan Hufft commits to Kansas State University
Dylan Hufft: 5 ’11”, 160 pounds, D1 commit. K-state bound in the fall of 2021.
“He’s a game changer,” said William Sobbe (baseball coach).
Hufft has been playing baseball since he was in t-ball. He said his father put him in baseball 13 years ago and it was “the best decision my dad has ever made.”
Hufft decided to start exploring the recruiting process with his summer ball coach, Jeremy Jones, when he was in eighth grade because he decided he wanted to continue baseball because he loves the game. Hufft said he has been looking at colleges for about three years to find the best fit for him.
After three months of thinking and decision making, Hufft verbally committed to K-state to start playing in the fall of 2021 after graduation.
At Kansas State University, Hufft is playing Middle-Infield but said he would prefer to play shortstop because “feels most in tune in the game.”
Hufft played for South Panther Varsity baseball for his freshman and sophomore years and was coached by Sobbe and Josh Walker.
Sobbe said if he could describe Hufft in one word it would be “phenomenal because he is a very coachable kid who is highly intelligent in the game of baseball and knows the game like no other.”
Teammate Max Pawela said he has played with Hufft for six years and he is always pushing others to do better.
“He is an energizer bunny,” said Pawela.
Hufft’s next season starts in the spring for South Baseball to prepare for K-state after high school.
