Upcoming Orchestra Concert
South’s Campus Orchestra has an upcoming concert in October. 10 in the auditorium at 8:00 p.m.
Campus Orchestra is planning on playing three songs at the fall concert.
“Dueling French Dances,” “Eine Kleine Nachtmusik” and “Gallop” are the songs Campus Orchestra is playing, according to Olivia Emerson, a Second Violin in Campus Orchestra.
The Orchestra has been playing these three pieces of music since the first week of school. Although it’s only three pieces of music these songs have been “very difficult on the orchestra” said MiYonna Grazier a viola player in Campus Orchestra.
“Probably ‘Eine Kleine’ because the melody is pretty hard to get down, especially for my violin section,” said Ava Ogara, the first violin in Campus Orchestra.
Even though the Orchestra has only about six more rehearsals until the big concert, students are excited to play these pieces to the school.
“I’m actually really excited for the concert. I am hoping that ‘Dueling French Dances’ is actually going to be good and I hope ‘Eine Kleine’ gets better in the next six practices we have,” said Danielle Bueoy, a Cello player in Campus Orchestra.
The Orchestra seems pretty confident in their ability to play these songs.
“I feel confident. I feel like we are on the right track as long as people pull their weight,” said Diane Markley, the Campus Orchestra teacher.
South’s Campus Orchestra members are looking forward to the concert and are hoping people from the school will come and support the group as they showcase their talent in the upcoming concert.
