Spanish Club says “Bienvenidos”

Spanish Club is always looking for new students at South to join. This club has two meetings a month. One meeting is before school on the first Wednesday of each month. The second meeting is an out of school activity, such as going out to eat at a Mexican restaurant.

For the students that have packed schedules this is a good club to join because you don’t have to attend every meeting in order to be a part of the club.

“It’s a really easy way to get involved and it’s really fun. This club has a lot of different grades which helps you connect with different people,” Alyssa Cameron, senior, said.

A common misconception about this club is that students have to know Spanish or be in a Spanish class to join. That isn’t the case at all. Spanish Club is available for all students at South.

“It’s a way to get people together who learn about Spanish culture or just want to learn more about it,” Cameron said

Cameron is the president of Spanish Club. She started speaking Spanish at a very young age. When she got to high school she gravitated towards this club because she related to it.

As president she wants to bring a bunch of new ideas to the club. She wants to create more activities for the club than just going out to eat. She’s planning on creating a game night and learning to cook your own food as well.

If you’re a student at South looking for a club to join, say “hola” to Spanish Club.
