Is Disney+ the right choice?

Now that everyone has caught up on rewatching Hannah Montana 13 years after it started airing on Disney Channel, and waiting patiently for the weekly releases of The Mandalorian. Viewers are sitting at mixed feelings for both the streaming service, its perks, and its competition.

The minute I saw that Disney+ was more than just the good old days of 2000s Disney Channel, that it included the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Star Wars, and many others, it was safe to say that I had high expectations. I am not a fan of big companies taking a monthly check from my bank account, but if it is stuff that I use daily, then some things are more than just a price tag. Users of the current number one streaming service, Netflix, are already getting mad at a price that seems to increase yearly, and seeing a streaming service that is only $7 compared to the beefy $13 that Netflix is offering, it gets old fast. Also, Disney+ is having a bundle deal with Hulu and Espn+ at $13 a month. And after hearing that price point, I immediately dropped my attachment from Netflix. I haven’t touched it since.

But Disney+ isn’t all bang for your buck. After looking through the library, I have only watched one thing. The Mandalorian. The current lineup of movies and shows just don’t appeal to me. Hulu and Espn+ are a different story however. I already had my eyes on some Hulu shows and some soccer matches on Espn+.

So in verdict, in my first week of having Disney+ and its bundle, I am not disappointed. Disney+ is still a new service, and it will only get stronger. If they keep this low price point and a wide variety of content, and most importantly the bundle with Hulu and Espn+. I believe it will eventually take out Netflix and all of its competition. The only things that are keeping me on Netflix for now, is The Office and Stranger Things, but other than that, I would bet on Netflix getting dethroned soon.
