Ripples to Waves
For the past few years, the girls swim team has by far been the most successful sports team at South. Every year since 2016 the Panther girls have been tearing up the water like a great white shark in the open ocean.
“This year is a new chance for us to show what we are made of. We have a shot to go pretty far in state. I don’t believe we will win, but we can sure prove that we are better than what people think we are,” Melody Sasser, junior, said.
Every year there is always a chance that the team could reach the peaks that the 2015-2016 team did. South is only getting better each year and gaining more and more talent by the season.
“We have the talent to go far this year. But as of right now, the motivation is at a low. Some of us don’t wanna get in and some of us are at the point of wanting to quit. But either way, we are all gonna get better and work harder as the season goes on. We are definitely more connected as a team this year than we ever have been as a team in the past,” Sophie Jaeger, senior, said.
Girls swimming will continue to dominate the water and show the talent they have. If they can grow even stronger as a team, and take those extra strides to make each other better, they can truly change a ripple into a wave.
