ACT Strategies
The ACT is one of the most important tests that a high schooler can take. It often determines your acceptance into a college or the scholarships you may earn. Here are a list of strategies that you can use next time you take this daunting test.
- Budget your time
- Mark up the text
- Practice and familiarize yourself with the test
- If you don’t know the right answer eliminate the wrong ones
- Answer the easy questions first
- Don’t second guess
- If you run out of time fill in one answer for the remaining questions
- When it comes to the English section 20-30% of the answers are “No Change”
- When it comes to the Math section plug in numbers and numbers
- When it comes to the Reading section don’t read the passages in order, skip around
- When it comes to the Science section do the conflicting viewpoints section last
