KANZAZZZ CITY
Kansas City Chief fans have experienced an ultimate high over the past week and a half. After losing the AFC championship game right before the Superbowl in 2019, Chiefs fans have been waiting all year for the best comeback.
South students haven’t been around for the full 50 years of the Chiefs comeback, but the excitement for the big game on Sunday is spreading fast throughout South. Students have been making plans all week for the Superbowl.
“I am watching the game with my friends and family and hopefully celebrating a victory,” Emma Clark, junior, said.
Some teachers have been waiting 50 years for another chance for the Chiefs to go to the Superbowl, and a couple were reminiscing on past Kansas City achievements.
“I don’t really remember the last time we went to the Superbowl, and I didn’t really start following the Chiefs until the Royals won the World Series, and I started being very loyal to both Kansas City teams,” Jetta McGinniss, a South math teacher, said.
Over the past few weeks, students and teachers have been watching the clock, waiting to watch their favorite team play in the Superbowl, and now they only have two more days.
