Things We Lost in COVID-19
On January 1st, the beginning of the new year, nobody in the entire world thought we would be where we are now; stuck at home and in quarantine because of a virus. There were so many things to look forward to with 2020 in sight, but sometimes not everything works out as we all had planned. This year has been a year of losses for many people worldwide.
-Right about now all the juniors and seniors would be planning for the Prom. Dates, dresses, after parties, all strategically planned just how the girls like it.
-If we don’t go back to school, our seniors will lose their last ever day of high school.
-Possible loss of graduation for seniors.
-No spring sports seasons.
-No March Madness.
-We have all lost family and friend time with the people we love, because of social distancing.
-There have been 89,733 deaths worldwide and 1,498,833 cases confirmed in more than 180 countries
-Families and parents are losing their jobs because they are non-essential.
-No eating out at restaurants.
-School.
-Toilet paper.
-And many many more.
Even though we have suffered many hardships from this pandemic, it’s up to us to make it better. Most of these losses are potentially fixable, thanks to social distancing and staying inside. We can look at the coronavirus as something we can learn and grow from as people. Seeing what we have lost has made me much more grateful for the things we had before. Never take anything for granted! Stay safe and healthy, South.
