A Day in the Life

I think it’s safe to say this is not how I imagined spending my final weeks of high school; locked up in my house, unable to see my family and friends, and forced to finish my course behind a computer screen. But at the Woodson household, we are trying to make the best of it. Although I will admit I have been spending almost every day in my bed, my family and I are very social and outgoing, so being unable to spend time and see our loved ones is really hard for us; so once a week, we try and hop in the car, and go do a drive-by past our family and friends (if the weather is nice of course). We text them, tell them to come outside, and we pull into their driveway, just to chat and try to get our minds off this crazy situation. This past driveby, we visited my aunt and then drove past my cousin’s house. We talked for quite a bit enjoying the nice weather, and you could tell it lifted all of our spirits to see each other. We try and keep the Covid-19 talk to a minimum, but we also take this time to talk about any anxieties that our loved ones may about the virus and try to make them feel better. Over the weekend I stopped by my friend Lauren’s house and caught up with her as she pogo-sticked in her drive-way. Then I stopped by my boyfriend’s house and watched him scooter around- funny sight, but it was just nice to finally see him. It may sound silly, but my family and I will definitely continue to do it during these crazy times of isolation.
