2021 COVID Gala

PHS Junior Exec planned and put together a junior senior gala in place of prom for this school year. There were roughly 150 attendants signed up for the event. It was a formal event from 7-9pm on Saturday, May 1st. A dinner from Grandma’s Catering was available in three choices: Southwest wrap, Veggie wrap, and a California Club wrap.

There was still a formal court of princesses and princes which included three junior/senior girls and 3 junior/senior boys. These people were Katie Means, Andrea Cote, Makenna Ornes, Alex Bozung, Landon Berry, Katie Claunch, Seth Jahraus, Matt Kruse, Ethan McWilliams, Jack Blackburn, Evan Atchison, and Elliott Smith. The winner of Queen and King were Katie Means and Seth Jahraus.

With a theme of City of Stars, the lawn at South was decorated with gold, navy blue, and white balloons and centerpieces along with the view of the city. Those that went enjoyed themselves. Listening to music, playing games, winning awards, eating well, and recognizing senior superlatives. It was overall a good experience. With COVID-19 restrictions, South is lucky to have had an event at all.
