When watching football you can feel this unique adrenaline rush with every touchdown, it’s almost addicting. Luckily at Park Hill South if you see number 19 running the ball, he is sure to never disappoint. Our varsity football wide receiver and kicker, Mudia Reuben, senior, is always ready to give you a heart attack. This name is expected to achieve great things out of high school, and it wouldn’t surprise many if it becomes a name to remember.
Imagine waking up and getting your first college offer, exciting right? Well, Reuben had to wake up a number of times too eventually have 16 Division 1 college offers. Is it really considered exciting when you have to choose between 16 great schools?
“My first one, it was before I even played my first football game, so it was really surprising and I was like wow football is something I can actually do, opposed to soccer, and they kept coming,” said Reuben.
He explained that after a while he got used to the feeling of excitement and shock, but is still excited for all the different opportunities.
As for the schools, we have, Kansas, K-State, Vanderbilt, Miami, Stanford, Ohio, Buffalo, Yale, Tulane, Southern Illinois, Central, Arkansas, Arkansas State, Middle Tennessee, Navy, and the Air Force Academy. While Mudia isn’t quiet ready to release a choice to the press he is willing to give us his top 5. How he managed to narrow it down to 5 is a mystery to us all. Arkansas State, K-State, Stanford, Yale, and Vanderbilt should all get excited because they are in the top 5.
It’s been a great season for South so far we are 5 and 0, and for our players it’s going to be even better when we make it to districts. While high school football will be missed our Homecoming King, and beloved number 19 is ready for the next level, and he will never forget where he came from.
