Arming Teachers is a Bad Idea

Teachers being armed to prepare for the worst in schools is not the answer to the problem that’s troubling schools everywhere. If at all, it would probably make things worse.

Arming teachers would be a horrible idea. Everyone seems to think all teachers are the perfect people and could never do any harm to anyone or anything.

What happens when a teacher is having trouble with their home life so they build up stress and are depressed so one day a student can push them over the edge? The teacher snaps then shoots the student until they’re dead.

Allowing so many weapons in one area wouldn’t make anything safer but only more dangerous. In schools, we are trying to avoid them as much as possible.

Kids will be kids, they do idiotic things that may not make sense to certain people. What would happen if a student had dared another student to touch a teacher’s gun and it were to discharge, harming either another student or the teacher?

Instead of arming teachers, why not just have more officers to guard the school. Officers are the ones that are actually trained to handle and carry a gun; it’s their job. I doubt that every teacher in every school is responsible enough to carry a firearm.

Before any of that, why not just have more security checkpoints, separate the parking lot from the school and have all the students come in through the gates and metal detectors?

There are so many other options that would be more reasonable to come first before the thought of arming teachers should be said.
