Band Show-Out at Homecoming Football Game

South’s Panther Marching Band shows-out loud and proud at the Homecoming football game on Friday. There to support the football team in their endeavor against St. Joe Central, the band watched the game, enthralled, as South dominated St. Joe on the field.

The Marching Band played pregame and performed their halftime show in-the-making for those who stuck around after the game.

“I think that the lack of people may have made the more nervous performers feel more at ease, although, ultimately, the performance was all about our hard work,” Kiana Fernandes, senior, said.

Those who stuck around gave off a very positive and supportive vibe as they stood in the stands, making the band feel even more confident. After their performance, they gathered on the sideline with their band director to debrief.

“I think that this was one of the best early-season performances that we’ve had. This year is the best set of new marchers that we’ve had in a long time and so their energy kind of feeds off of the older marchers and makes everyone more passionate about band and that passion is what is helping us do better,” Fernandes said.

As the season goes on, the Panther Marching Band will continue to work on their halftime show performance and continue playing at the home football games to support South’s football team.
