Boys 2019 Soccer Season Recap

With an unbelievable season, the boys soccer legacy has sadly come to an end this year. With eight seniors this year, the boys wanted to make their last season the best one.

The team won their class district against Liberty North in a tense round of PKs. Mudia Reuben, Sophomore has been playing games for Varsity since his freshman year.

“It felt good to win districts this year because we wanted to do it for our seniors for their last year.” Reuben said.

In the past years, they hadn’t made it as far as they had hoped, so this year was a big improvement and something that the seniors will never forget. Ty Rouse, Senior, considers soccer to be a big part of his life and feels good about his season this year, hoping for his younger brother to follow in his footsteps.

“At the beginning of the season people didn’t think we were going to do as good but we started doing better towards the end of the season,” Rouse said.

The boys came into their quarterfinal game with everything they had, knowing the competition they were going up against. But, they still ended up with a devastating loss to end the season with a score of 0-3 against Lee’s Summit.

With a lot of younger members on the team, there is a lot of potential for the future to come. They are hoping to go even farther next year with the skills and techniques they have learned.
