Boys Basketball Championship at NKC

The boys varsity basketball team of Park Hill South High School have made it to the championship game of this weeks tournament. The boys have already played two tournaments this year and have gotten 3rd place at William Jewel and 2nd place in Springfield, so they are really hoping to finish on top tonight.

This is a big game for the boys and Trey Weith, senior, had a lot to say for his team. When asked how he thinks tonight will go, Weith states, “I think its going to go pretty well tonight. We had a really good week of practice and scouted them a bit, which makes me feel really prepared for the game”

Weith went on to say that the team has been working well together all season. “We all like each other and get along well. When you have a team like this you tend to play well.”

So far in this tournament the team has beaten St. Pius and Oak Park High School in over time. Tonight they play North Kansas City who is ranked 7th in the state. The PHS basketball team is very excited and have a lot of motivation to take first place in a tournament this season.

“We are ready to win.”

The game is taking places tonight at 8 pm at North Kansas City High School.
