“Dark Side of The Moon” is the Best Album of All Time
In early 1973 British rock band, Pink Floyd dropped their breakout album “Dark Side of The Moon.” Before this album, the band had a couple of albums under their belt but nothing like “Dark Side.”
This album went on to spend 937 weeks on the Billboard 200 and be, in my opinion, the best album of all time.
I say this because everything about this album is iconic. The album cover with the light hitting the prism–everyone has seen this image before.
The influence of the album was incredible, This album was one of the first concept albums to ever gain traction from the general public. It has inspired so many albums in that era & albums that are coming out in recent years.
Roger Waters and David Gilmour were the brains behind most of the conceptual things Pink Floyd did and they have proven that they are both musical geniuses with Pink Floyd’s discography.
The attention to detail on this album was like nothing anyone had ever seen, with all the little noises or ad-libs during the songs or the lyrics and the little tape imperfections, the list goes on.
My favorite song on the album is probably “Time” or “Breathe.” Both of those songs have been super influential in my life & inspired me in many ways through the years. Not a day has gone by in my teenage career where I didn’t listen to at least one song off this album.
The album has gone 23 times platinum and still occasionally pops up in the Billboard 200. “Dark Side of The Moon” was a turning point for Pink Floyd and music as a whole and it has proven multiple times that it is the best album of all time.
