FCA : You Belong Here
FCA, or Fellowship of Christian Athletes, is a club here at South where all students can come together to praise God, as well as a community where one can always feel welcome. Many people have made lifelong friends and found their place at FCA, and you don’t have to be an athlete to join. The theme last year was You Belong Here, and that could not be more true.
The weekly meetings often consist of snacks, prayer, and a message from a student. The following is an excerpt from Ava Lindsay’s message at FCA on Thursday, January 23, 2020 about how to reach your friends:
“Know that people see you. You might be that kid that’s like, ‘I’m that person in the back of the class, I’m that person that is a fly on the wall and people don’t realize me.’ You might think that that’s you, but I want you to know that people do realize. People do see you, and they see your heart, and they see that you’re different than other people. So even if you feel like you’re not noticed in different areas of high school and even outside of school, I want you to know that people do see you. God can work through you and you don’t even have to say anything. It’s just the posture of your heart that ultimately allows God to move through you. The biggest way you can lead your friends is by being yourself.”
You can hear more messages like this and experience the community yourself at FCA meetings Thursday mornings in the auditorium. All are welcome.
