Football wins Homecoming Game

The Football Homecoming game was South’s second win for this season, and many students came to the game to watch their team play.  The game was on Sept. 13 and South beat the St. Joseph Central Indians, 52-7.

Lucas Toledo, one of the players on the freshman team that attended the Homecoming Game said, The defense played very well because they had two major interceptions which really helped turn the game around.”

He also said that he believed Andrew Horton and Nathan Sharp made some of the best plays during the game.

Cody Chatham, one of the five Rage Cage leaders for South, said, They have always worked very hard but this game, you could tell they were really wanting to prove their worth… If we continue giving them good support, and help them out while their on the road, I think we have a good chance of keeping this energy up.

This was only the third game South has played so far this season but students like Nyla Talley, one of the varsity cheer captains, said that she can tell there is definitely a change in how the students feel towards  the team this season.

Talley said, There is a lot more participation this year, and more school spirit.”

The team still has seven more games this season.

Chatham said,We are all very excited for the rest of the season, and hopefully more games like this one.
