Girls Dive Right In!

This weekend from Friday the 14th to Saturday the 15th, the Park Hill South girls dive team traveled to a competition in Columbia. This was an invitational meet that at the Mizzou Aqauticenter. JV placed first overall and competed on Friday night. The varsity team of four divers placed in second and preformed on Saturday morning. 

Megan Wells is a sophomore on the Varisty dive team who competed at Mizzou this weekend. Wells said “I had an amazing time this weekend with my team, this was good team bonding experience because we did not compete last year due to COVID.”

With over 50 divers doing 11 dives each, the competition was extremely competitive. Wells also added” It was hard to stay calm under the pressure of competing for five hours. The facility was gorgeous and I had a lot of fun as our hard work payed off.”

Two of our varsity divers made it to the the top 8 of the divers and meddled as the group of divers got cut from a group of thirty-two, to a group of eight. 

After a successful trip to Columbia, everyone is proud of our dive team. Tuesday January 18th was senior night for both girls swim and dive to celebrate those who are graduating. We can’t wait to see the future of girls diving.
