Teenagers Trick-Or-Treating has become a topic of debate around the country
Halloween is coming up this Thursday, and kids around the country are getting geared up to go trick-or-treating. While this is a staple activity that helps define the childhoods of Americans everywhere, it is frowned upon once the participants cross a certain threshold.
This, of course, is the dreaded high schooler you see knocking on your door asking for candy. Most adults can’t stand to see teenagers dressed up in costumes, and feel taken advantage of by high schoolers who are long past their prime trick-or-treating years.
But is that really such a bad thing? Growing up comes with a lot of responsibilities. These kids are applying for colleges, worried about their grades, and are working jobs in their free time. For one night a year, they can feel free to dress up and have fun, regressing back to their childhood self by running around asking for candy.
Next time you think about turning away a highschool aged trick-or-treater, you might want to consider their reasons for being there.
