Is the New “Lion King” as Good as It’s Made Out to Be?
We’ve all heard of the new live action “Lion King.” So many people were hyped up about it–so many people that the box office opened up with $191 million. I agree with the hype: it was definitely worth it.
“The Lion King” was spectacular. It was so very realistic. The amount of detail the movie had within the face, bodies and the setting would make you think that they were real lions. The shape of their mouths even matched up with the words they were saying. I’ve seen live action movies of originally animated movies where none of the characters looked like the original.
The actors did so well in recreating the movie and the characters. Donald Glover did an amazing job as Simba. The way he portrayed the emotions so flawlessly and smooth was divine. Beyonce as Nala was terrific. I would have never thought she would be an actress in a children’s movie, but she was absolutely phenomenal.
The original animated version was the rave when it first came out. I think most of the hype for the live action one was to see if it could top the original. I think it did. It was a lot more emotional and made me cry a lot more than the animated one did.
The new “Lion King” is definitely worth watching. The hype was for a good reason. It was absolutely extraordinary, everything about it was remarkable. I loved it so much. I’ve watched it two times and both times I cried.
I give it a five star rating–definitely recommend.
