Jayda’s Jumps
Everyone has their hobbies. For some, that may be dancing, knitting, cooking or painting. But for Jayda Hankins, Senior, her main hobby is a little bit different from most; Skydiving!
Hankins completed her first jump with the Falcon Skydiving team in Kansas City, Missouri on her 18th birthday. Unlike most people, she was not scared in the slightest.
“One would think falling out of an airplane at 14,000 feet would make your knees shake a little, but I didn’t feel any of that. I was so excited, I had no anxiety at all.” Says Hankins.
After her first time, Hankins knew this was something she definitely would do again. “Skydiving gives you a natural high with a crazy adrenaline rush. It’s quite literally addicting.”
Jayda describes skydiving as one of the best experiences she’s ever had in her life. “There is no other feeling like it to compare skydiving to. That may be what is most appealing to me. You’ll never know the sensation unless you experience it yourself. It’s intoxicating.”
Hankins has jumped two times with the Falcon Skydiving team, and as she continues to work on getting her skydiving license, there does not seem to be an end in sight for Jayda’s 14,000 feet jumps.
