JV Soccer boys Wins 4-0 against St. Joe Central
South’s JV soccer boys won against St. Joe Central on Monday evening, Sept. 16, beating them 4-0.
The last 10 minutes of the first half is when the boys started to connect passes. However, the season hasn’t been all wins and there are a few problems the boys need to fix.
Conor Roe, junior and captain of the JV boys soccer team, said that they should communicate better because they don’t know each other’s plans. Roe also said that the season is going good so far and that they have a strong team this year.
Luke Bergrud, junior and a defender on the JV boys team, said that overall it was a good game, but they started off slow and weren’t connecting passes.
Bergrud also said, “There is a lot of room for improvement.”
The one thing he wants the team to execute during the next game is to win, have possession and finish their chances.
Myles Mead, freshman and defender on the JV boys team, said that overall the game wasn’t good. Mead also said that moving the ball up was better than previous games and that the team has lots of opportunities that they missed.
For the season so far, Mead said, “It is not going what I thought it was going to be like.”
Mead also said that the defense is falling apart, but said he “hopes that the defense will pick it back up”
The one common thing that all three of the boys said was that they needed to communicate more and that their season could go better.
St Joe was only game three out of 16 games in total. They play St. Joe again on Sept. 26. This could be a second chance for JV to improve what they said they needed to work on.
