Lights, Camera, Annie!
The theatre department at South is setting the stage once again, and it’s proud to unveil its newest show, Annie. Annie is a Broadway dramedy based on a book by Thomas Meehan about a young girl’s comical misadventures in New York City during the 1930s.
The adaptation from page to stage has been done before, and the department is eager to show off what they have in store. So far, everything has been going well in preparation for the debut.
Junior Jenna Preuss said, “I really enjoy how involved everyone is with production. We’re working with a pretty new cast, so it’s exciting to see them get some experience.”
Preuss’s role in the performance is that of Lily St. Regis, a minor antagonist in the story.
She later added, “Today we’re running the show for the first time. Some important dates to remember are Nov. 14, 15, and 16 since those are the performance days.”
The musical promises to be an entertaining display for the whole family. Stay tuned for more updates on the musical as the performance draws nearer to its opening night.
