MLS Playoffs are Back in KC

When people think of Kansas City, the first thing that pops in their mind is probably Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. But as KC culture begins to change, a new team arises in the 816.

Sporting KC, who have only been around for 25 years have begun their 2020 post-season run sitting comfortably with the number one seed in the western conference. A bounce-back season following 2018s 1st place seed, then ultimately falling to the 11th seed, Sporting has found a rebound of a season finishing back on top. Led by forward Alan Pulido and winger Johnny Russell, Sporting is back to their old ways of winning games and shattering their opponent’s playoff hopes. Beating the San Jose Earthquakes last week after a PK shootout, SKC is looking forward to hosting the Minnesota United at home on Thursday.

Sporting has the potential of hosting the MLS Cup in a couple of weeks if they advance in the next two games. Patrick did his job back in February, now it is Sporting’s job to make KC the city of champions.
