Post FANs
As South students roll into a new semester the FANs program has ended. In the fall semester FANs made a comeback for one semester to help make the freshman more comfortable for their transition into South.
Overall, the FANs made a huge improvement with freshman behavior. Not only were the FANs helpful with homework, but they also became the freshmans friends. It helped a lot for the freshman to be more comfortable around upperclassman because they saw some friendly faces walking around the hallways.
“The FANs helped me a lot with my homework and became my tutor buddies” Cody Noland (freshman), said.
Noland said he thought one semester was enough, but Campbell Woodbury (freshman) would’ve liked if FANs stayed for the next semester.
The FANs program this year did one-two lessons a week, which kept the freshmans attention, whereas two years ago when we had the FANs program there was a lesson every day which made the freshman annoyed and not wanting to participate.
The program will continue on for next school year, as of now there are no changes to the program. Coming up in April a handful of FANs will go to Lakeview and Walden to talk to them about the program and ease their worries of moving on to high school.
