Post-Season Push
First down panthers! Immediately after this is announced the iconic panther growl roars over the Preston Field intercom. As the football season has come to an end, many other athletes are going on to their winter sports and leaving football behind until next fall. For junior, Eric Avery, he not only has moved into basketball season but the football grind never came to an end.
“For me, I look at football as my way of staying focused, and a way to push myself to my limits. It keeps me on my toes,” Avery said. Avery had a successful season as a junior and is looking forward to next years season.
“I really want to play in college. At first, I looked at football as hanging out with friends, but now that my coaches have seen potential in me I want to keep pushing and get to the limit that I know I can.” Avery has a few college visits coming up and is feeling hopeful. Unlike most football athletes, him along with Gaige Warren (junior) will head to Las Vegas in a few weeks to compete with their 7 vs. 7 league team.
With a hopeful attitude and working mindset, Avery is looking forward to the future in football.
