Senior Assassin Strikes Again

Senior Assassin has begun again with 100-plus seniors playing this competitive but fun game.

“It’s something that is able to de-stress and allow seniors to act like kids one last time” said Peyton Hughes (junior).

When asking students about how they feel about this being just a senior tradition, there are mixed emotions some believe that the students should be able to play while others believe this is for seniors and seniors only.

Mason Wheeler (senior) said, “This is a south senior tradition and other grades should wait their turn.”

Other students such as Damein Hickman (senior) believe other grades should be able to be involved.

He said, “I think that they should be able to participate also because it just makes makes everything more fun at school and also brings people together.”

Even though the other grades aren’t allowed to participate in this senior game they are still getting involved by helping seniors get their targets. Kristina Greene (sophomore) and Hughes are two of many students helped others.

Greene helped her boyfriend, Wheeler, by supplying him with water bottles to spray the target with. She also was the camera women when he got his target.

She said, “I figured it would be a fun experience” when asked why she decided to help in the assassination of Jake Powers (senior).

Hughes helped Fletcher Burns (senior) assassinate Amanada Pray (senior) in her own front yard, sitting outside of her house for three hours to catch her on her way to school. She says her reasoning for helping was because he said that if he won she would get $100, so how would you turn down that offer right?

With a game so fun and competitive there are always fun stories to go along with it. There was a rule put in place where they couldn’t go into their target’s house. Now some people would just know not to go into a random persons house but if your target is your friend, that switches up things according to this story told by Rylei Cassaro (sophomore).

A student got his best friend as his target and he decided to go inside his target’s house to get him. The target scared to be eliminated jumped out of his two story window and broke his leg in the fall.

The number of members in the game are starting to decrease slowly. But there will a spring Assassin for not only seniors but hopefully the juniors also.
