South Softball VS. Liberty District Game
The girls softball season came to a close this past Thursday after a hard fought battle against Liberty.
The South athletes started off the first two innings strong, holding Liberty at zero runs. All you could hear throughout the field was the screaming and yelling coming from dugout to dugout.
As the game went on, Liberty had scored four runs by the fifth. South was now up to bat and were more loud than ever. The girls put their rally hats on and scored four runs. Making the score 4-4.
South was the visiting team because they had the lower seed, so Liberty was up to bat in the bottom of the sixth. After a couple hits and very questionable calls made by the umpires, Liberty scored again making the score 4-8.
Coming into the seventh, the South girls knew they needed to score and tie it up. Not one heart in that dugout wanted their season to be over. It came to an end in the top of the seventh when South did not get any runners on base to drive in.
The girls look forward to getting even stronger for next year and for the seniors, we wish them the best of luck in the future.
