South’s Super Sophomore
South’s girls tennis team has a new leader on top. Returning player, Vivien Hamilton, Sophomore, was number one on the challenge ladder this year. Being a younger player on the team, she still manages to lead the players to victory.
Regular season went very well for Hamilton, winning almost all of her matches. This year in districts though, the girls had some tough opponents. Hamilton could play doubles or singles, depending on what she thinks her strength would be.
“Coach Cunliff thought doubles would be better in districts for me this year, and me and Sydney ended up getting third place.” Hamilton said.
Not only does she just play tennis for the school, she practices all year long for a club team as well. Even with any extra time she has, she sometimes will go out to her neighborhood courts and practice by herself.
Hamilton wished she could advance to state, but she has hope for the next upcoming years.
“I think we have a good chance next year. We are losing a few seniors though, so hopefully we have some good incoming classes.” Hamilton said.
