Teacher Pam Jurgensmeyer was awarded the Secondary Park Hill Star Award for November
The Star Award is awarded to teachers or staff members each month who have been nominated by the community for outstanding work within the school. The Star Award was awarded to Pamela Jurgensmeyer, the lead cross country girls coach, track coach, and Language arts teacher, for the month of November.
“I feel honored to be a positive influence on young female athletes. It’s good for young females to see a strong female mentor who hopefully builds confidence in everybody. When athletes get older and they know that running is something they can still do, there is a huge payoff in the long run, no pun intended.”
Jurgensmeyer says that being a good teacher and coach has taken a lot of time and energy, especially away from her family, so it’s nice to be recognized for her hard work.
