The Lost Season Returns

Track is finally back!! This season is two years in the making after last season getting cancelled due to covid-19 and expectations are very big but unknown. MOMileSplit is one of the biggest running sports news websites in Missouri and even they don’t know how this season will turn out. Considering that all the most recent times are people’s sophomore/freshman year the first few meets will have very interesting results ranging from all over. South’s track team also has had many big changes including a new head coach. AJ Roth has been the head cross country coach for 6 years and now will begin his first year as the head track coach.

“It feels great to be the track coach. I have been here for seven years and have had a great mentor. I see a lot of potential and our young team and I think here in the next few years we can be really good,” said Roth.

Other new coaches include Coach Higgins as a new throwing coach and Coach Kline the long jumping coach. With the first quad meet on March 23rd the season will be in full swing sooner than we think.
