The Vaping Uproar
Vaping has been a huge concern this past year, at South and beyond.
At first it was thought of as a good thing, at least when it was helping people quit smoking. However, the unknown of vaping has finally come up in the world of news and publicity.
Vaping is a concern within teens and young adults. The vaping society is no longer targeting cigarette smokers. They are using enticing flavors and products to catch the teens and young adults interest.
This is a problem in schools. South put input on the rising problem.
“It’s stupid, overated, unhealthy and makes every situation worse,” said Brayden Admas, freshman.
Many students have different opinions on vaping, positive, negative and some students simply just don’t care.
“It’s not that bad, because it doesn’t harm people as bad as cigarettes do,” said Hanna Razo.
Most students said that vaping was a bad thing, but a lot said that students vape to try and fit in, or to be cool. Students also said that freshmen, sophomores and seniors were the most involved with vaping in schools.
If a loved one is involved with vaping, the point of view on vaping was more than likely changed in an instant.
“I would tell them what could happen and if they really wanted to go down that path, then that’s on them,” said K-Anna Ford.
“I would be very disappointed, We would have a very serious discussion, I would educate them on why it is such a bad thing for you, it’s not moral, it’s not themselves.” said Eric Krause, language arts.
Vaping is not just another thing to be pushed to the side; it is a very serious situation, and how it is and will be addressed will greatly affect the future later.
