Varsity Basketball

Boys basketball is back again at full swing for another great season ahead of them. To get the season underway many covid regulations go into place like spread out bench areas with masks on the entire time the players aren’t in the game. In addition each player only gets two people to come watch and no student fans can come.  This year should be much different than previous not only from of all the weird covid regulations but how different the team looks. The varsity squad only has two seniors playing meaning the future is very bright for South basketball because of how young of a team we have. They started off pretty strong going 4-2 through the first six games and they have won three games in a row. They now  look to continue their hot streak throughout the rest of the year and next Tuesday against (7-2) Truman. As of now they only have 8 more games left in the year before they head off to conference, districts, and hopefully the state tournament.
